Description

* CYL SERVICE ADVENTURE *

We're excited to continue our partnership with the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) to offer a unique opportunity for you to contribute to your community while doing something you love on the slopes. You will be trained as a volunteer adaptive ski or snowboard instructor during these trips. You will need to be comfortable skiing or riding on greens and groomed blues in order to participate to be able to best serve on lessons. You will serve as a shadow and support for BOEC ski or snowboard instructors - they'll help you out!

Want to learn how to ski? Check out the Learn to Ski trip!

Our program fees are inclusive of any leadership camp or program. Not only do students serve with a local non-profit, but CYL Staff provide experienced facilitation to develop community-minded leaders dedicated to improving their communities.

Fees also include our incurred our organizational costs of safe transportation to and from Breckenridge, all meals and snacks during the trip, and group organization with Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center. The trip fees do not include ski or snowboard rental so if you need equipment, please rent prior to trip departure.

Your Unique Leadership

Student leaders should demonstrate the ability to be respectful of others, open-minded in their views, and courageous in their ability to step outside of their comfort zone. Serving at Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center is an incredibly powerful experience. We ask that all student leaders learn as much as they can about people with disabilities, including proper vocabulary, prior to the trip.

Watch our recorded disability awareness and adaptive sports workshop to best prepare!

Once you register, the CYL team will follow up to gather more details about your skiing experience. Please make sure you check your email that you registered with! If you have ANY questions about this program, please contact CYL Program Director, Lauren Steavpack
