* CYL SERVICE ADVENTURE *
We're excited to continue our partnership with the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center (BOEC) to offer a unique opportunity for you to contribute to your community while doing something you love on the slopes. You will be trained as a volunteer adaptive ski or snowboard instructor during these trips. You will need to be comfortable skiing or riding on greens and groomed blues in order to participate to be able to best serve on lessons. You will serve as a shadow and support for BOEC ski or snowboard instructors - they'll help you out!

Your Unique Leadership
Student leaders should demonstrate the ability to be respectful of others, open-minded in their views, and courageous in their ability to step outside of their comfort zone. Serving at Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center is an incredibly powerful experience. We ask that all student leaders learn as much as they can about people with disabilities, including proper vocabulary, prior to the trip.
Watch our recorded disability awareness and adaptive sports workshop to best prepare!
** A note about lodging **
We are staying in Breckenridge, close to the ski resort, at Breckenridge Christian Ministries and community space. We are not a religiously affiliated organization, however this space is great for large groups and is the most cost-effective for our group's needs. As it is a group space, there are no showers on-site or physical beds. There are couches for sleeping, a kitchen to cook our meals and lots of space for lounging and playing games. It's recommended to bring a sleeping bag or blankets and a sleeping pad.
Once you register, the CYL team will follow up to gather more details about your skiing experience. Please make sure you check your email that you registered with! If you have ANY questions about this program, please contact CYL Program Director, Lauren Steavpack.
