Independent Opportunities

These service opportunities are brought to you by CYL's nonprofit partnership network. There's so much GOOD happening in our community and we can't be everywhere, so we aim to amplify the great work done in the community by our partners and share unique ways for you to serve.

Independent opportunities are a chance for you to serve...well, independently! We encourage you to bring friends and family with you, but opportunities like these may require you to practice your leadership skills of initiative, communication, and commitment!

Sunday Workdays at Samuels Garden

With Denver Urban Gardens

Join DUG every 4th Sunday, 9am to noon, to work in the garden. Everyone is welcome!

Please wear comfortable clothes and close-toed shoes, and bring gloves if you have them. A hat and water bottle are also a good idea on hot days.

Samuels teachers, parents and students, as well as community members, are all welcome!

The garden is located next to Samuels Elementary School at 3985 S Vincennes Ct, Denver, CO 80237. Please park in the parking lot in front of the school, and you will see the garden to the right of the main school building.

Masks are now optional in the garden, but of course anyone is welcome to wear one if they feel more comfortable doing so. See you in the Garden!
