* CYL Service Adventure *
Join Colorado Young Leaders at Cal-Wood Education Center for a full day of fun! We will be working on the property to help with fire restoration and mitigation. In 2020, over 10,000 acres burned at Cal-Wood and it's now time to support in building the area back up so plants and wildlife can thrive. See photos of the damaged area here.
CYLers will be joined by Twiggs & Co., a Denver-based sustainability consulting and implementation firm that exists to foster a world where people, planet, profit, and purpose is at the center of all actions. We're excited to team up with such an amazing group! Thanks to this partnership, all programming is provided at no-cost to students.
What to expect
We will carpool together, meeting at a central meeting place in Denver around 7:30AM, and head up to Cal-Wood. All transportation is included in the day trip. Once we arrive at Cal-Wood around 9:00AM, Angie, the land manager will share more about some of the activities we will be doing that day. We will work on projects, have some fun and can hike around the property. We will break for lunch and snacks, also provided by CYL. We plan to arrive back in Denver around 5PM.
Who should sign up?
Any student or CYL alum who loves the outdoors, is interested in learning more about the effects of fires in Colorado, or just wants to get out and do some purposeful work! If you have any questions about the day trip, please contact Lauren.
