Monthly events in Thornton and Aurora!

Are you a high school student interested in meeting cool CU scientists and exploring exciting topics in STEM through engaging activities? Do you like free food? Teen Science Cafés are free, youth-led programs that connect CU scientists with local teens in fun, informal settings. Youth leaders are charged with organizing monthly events, including inviting and training scientists to share their stories through hands-on activities and engaging discussion. To maintain a youth-centered space, the events are restricted to students currently in high school.

Why do some individuals with a genetic mutation have a genetic disease while others with the same mutation are unaffected? And how can scientists use fish as a model to understand this phenomenon? Come learn how we answer these questions through hands-on activities and meet the scientists behind the work.
