Description

Hello! Thank you for volunteering with Denver Urban Gardens. During the workday we will breaking ground at the new community garden at Cedar Park. Tasks may include digging/trenching, pulling weeds, using power tools, moving compost/mulch and other physical tasks. 

Please wear:

  • Close toed shoes
  • Clothes you don't mind getting dirty
  • Layers/sun protection 

Bring a reusable water bottle! DUG will provide all of the needed tools/materials, as well as light snacks. Please arrive with ample time to find parking, we will begin orientation promptly at 10:00am. We can't wait to see you in the garden!

Inclement Weather Plan: As we all know, Colorado's weather can be unpredictable! Our projects most often go rain or shine, but we pay close attention to the weather forecast in the week leading up to the project. If the forecasted weather will prevent us from completing our project safely and enthusiastically, we will reschedule the workday. Examples of weather we watch for are thunderstorms, heavy rain or snow or winds, an Air Quality Index of 150+, and other weather advisories. Since Denver's weather changes so quickly, we aim to make these decisions within 24 hours before the workday. I'll notify you and all signed up volunteers of any changes as soon as a decision is made. Thanks for your understanding!
