Volunteer at the Mile Long Table Event – Be Part of Something BIG!

Location: Auraria Campus, Downtown Denver
What it's all about:
The Mile Long Table is a one-of-a-kind event bringing 5,280 people — one for every foot in a mile — together at a single table to share a slow-cooked meal, meaningful conversation, and a sense of true belonging. This powerful gathering is designed to break barriers, spark connection, and show what an inclusive and united city can look like.
Why Get Involved:
This is an incredible opportunity for youth to step into leadership and be part of a major citywide event rooted in community, equity, and connection. As a volunteer, you’ll play an essential role in setting the stage for this unforgettable experience by helping prepare the table where thousands will gather.
You’ll help create a warm, intentional space where everyone feels valued and welcome. After your shift, you are invited to stay and join the meal with more than 5,000 other community members.
Volunteer Role:
Table and Decor Setup
Your role will focus on Setting the Table, which will be done in sections. This includes:

Making sure each setting has greens (decorations), bread and fruit (both decor and part of the meal), and co-host kits

Placing plates, napkins, cups, and utensils at each seat

Helping ensure each section looks welcoming and ready for guests

Supporting last-minute adjustments so everything is ready by 9:00 AM for photos and video
We’ll be setting 660 tables, with 6–8 people per table. Our goal is to wrap up table setting by 9:00 AM so there’s time for finishing touches before guests arrive.
After your volunteer shift, you’re welcome to stay and experience the event alongside thousands of others, sharing a meal and meaningful conversations.
Who Can Volunteer:
Youth ages 15 and up.
