Join our Learn to Ski Trip!

**THIS TRIP IS FOR HIGH SCHOOLERS WHO ARE LOOKING FOR AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN HOW TO SKI**

If you are already a skier or snowboarder, consider joining our Serve on the Slopes ski trips.

Your Unique Leadership

Trying something new is hard! Signing up for a trip like this is the first step and already demonstrates strong leadership. Student leaders should demonstrate the ability to be respectful of others, open-minded in their views, and courageous in their ability to step outside of their comfort zone. You may fall skiing and that’s ok! You are joined by staff and other high school students who have limited skiing experience so you are all in it together!

An information session will be required for all participants. Please register for the info session here!

CYL partners with SOS Outreach annually to host a learn-to ski and leadership trip!

Trip Fees

Fees for this trip are $150 and include:

  • Transportation to and from Vail Resort
  • All meals and snacks
  • Lodging in Vail
  • Single-day ski lift ticket at Vail Resorts for day of action
  • Ski rentals
  • Warm gear rental should you need it, including ski goggles
  • Leadership development programming

We understand that one of the biggest barriers to skiing is the up front cost. This skiing alone, ski rentals and a lift ticket, is valued at over $300. Not only do we provide students with the opportunity to learn an incredible outdoor skill, CYL provides leadership and team building programming during the weekend. Youth are joined by other peers who are also trying something new for the first time!

All trip participants are required to travel with Colorado Young Leaders for this trip.

Scholarship options available and can be requested through this link

** A note about lodging **

We are staying in Edwards, close to Vail Resort, at Trinity Church. We are not a religiously affiliated organization, however this space is great for large groups and is the most cost-effective for our group's needs. As it is a group space, there are no showers on-site or physical beds. There are couches for sleeping, a kitchen to cook our meals and lots of space for lounging and playing games. It's recommended to bring a sleeping bag or blankets and a sleeping pad.

Once you register, the CYL team will follow up to gather more details about ski gear needs. Please make sure you check your email that you registered with! If you have ANY questions about this program, please contact CYL Program Director, Lauren Steavpack
