St. Jude Leadership Society is a membership of high performing students who share a passion for leadership, service and community. Through this meaningful shared experience SJLS members will focus their time and energy on critical leadership principles that will lead to their success in career and life.
Leadership Development
Members participate in a series of leadership development sessions that engage a variety of community and corporate leaders. All sessions are inspired by St. Jude founder Danny Thomas and focus on leadership traits like good citizenship, gratitude, grit, integrity, empathy and courage.
Networking and Mentorship
Throughout their journey members work with their mentors, usually a parent, to leverage their passions, skills and networks to build and execute a fundraising strategy. Through this experience, SJLS members learn how to manage a project from start to finish and they have an opportunity to exercise all that is learned through their leadership development sessions.
Lifesaving Contributions
SJLS members are challenged to raise $2,500 per person. Every dollar raised ensures that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Members who meet their goal will be invited to complete their leadership training at St. Jude during the SJLS Memphis Experience.
