JOIN THE GOOD TROUBLE CLIMATE NETWORK AS THE IN-STATE POLICY DIRECTOR! 

Good Trouble's in-state policy director will work closely with our out of state director to affect change in the state government. Their tasks may include:

  • Maintaining relationships with state legislators and partner organizations to build coalitions of support around our policies.
  • Organizing and attending public comment sessions with partner schools.
  • Supporting public comment training sessions.
  • Tracking bills of interest.
  • Leading the process of sponsoring Good Trouble's own bill next year.
Requirements:
  • Must be a high school upperclassman or college student.
  • Must be willing to work in this role for a full calendar year (we prefer individuals willing to commit to the position for longer).
  • Have at least 3 hours a week to commit to Good Trouble.
  • Attend Good Trouble's biweekly Executive Committee meetings every other Sunday at 7 PM.
  • The director will receive mentorship and support from the out of state policy director, Good Trouble's director, and other executive committee members, but they should have a basic understanding of Colorado's legislature and past experience with state advocacy is strongly recommended.
