Who We Are

Community Resources, Inc., (CRI) is a 501(c)(3) educational non-profit that has served the students, families and staff of Denver and Denver Public Schools since 1972. The goal of our organization is to enhance the education of students utilizing hundreds of volunteers from the Denver community who share their time, knowledge and enthusiasm.

Each year CRI creates and coordinates thousands of programs that reach over 90,000 student contacts.

What We Do

CRI has four main program areas:
Academic Mentors: CRI staff matches motivated students in the 5th through 12th grades with professionals from the community to study a topic and/or career in depth.

Classroom Speakers: By bringing knowledgeable community members into schools to share their passions with students, the Classroom Speakers program enhances curriculum through more than 500 presentations on subjects ranging from art to zoology that help learning come alive.

Family Nights: An innovative evening program, Family Nights create a fun and inviting environment with learning events designed to engage parents and kids. Events include Math, Science, Art, Multicultural, Health & Wellness, and more

Customized Special Events: Programs and events are custom designed to meet the needs of individual schools. Types of events include career fairs; science fairs; art, science and multicultural days; and themed festivals. Dream a dream for your school, and CRI will make it happen.

How to get involved:

I think volunteering at are Family Nights would be a great opportunity to work with youth. These are after school opportunities lasting about 2 hours and happen around Denver throughout the year. We also have special events such as festivals that would be good opportunities as well, but happen less frequently usually in fall or spring.
