Who We Are

Empowering youth to end the cycle of relationship violence through therapy, advocacy and education

Project PAVE was established in 1986 in response to a number of violent incidents in the Denver area. Community leaders came together to create a framework for intervening early in the lives of youth and families exposed to relationship violence and to promote alternatives to violence in youth relationships. PAVE has a long history of providing innovative, evidence-based, and culturally-responsive services for survivors and their families in our community. It is the promise of our mission that youth who receive services and education are less likely to continue cycles of violence later in life. Our legacy bears witness to the realization of our mission in the lives of thousands of participants.

What We Do

Developing Young Leaders

  • Comprehensive training and professional development for high school youth
  • Educating peers about healthy relationships
  • Youth empowerment

Youth Educators will be trained to present on the topics of dating violence and healthy relationships. They will team up to present to a variety of communities such as students, parent groups, faith-based organizations, at conferences, etc. Youth Educators also have the opportunity to work on school-based projects/campaigns around the topic of healthy relationships and teen dating violence. Youth Educators are integrated into the Project PAVE team and central to our mission. To help promote a youth-led approach to this program, there are two tiers of involvement; paid leaders and volunteers. These tiers are meant not as a way to impose a hierarchy but to encourage that youth make this program their own.

True Man

  • Multi-session curriculum focused on how healthy masculinity can end relationship violence
  • Developed in partnership with the Denver Broncos to provide character development for the young men in their Futures Football Program
  • Helping men and boys express emotions in a healthy way, use assertive communication when in conflict with others, and control aggressive and violent reactions

Path to Healthy Relationships Classes

  • In-depth curriculum focused on teaching middle and high school youth about healthy relationships, dating, equality, and preventing violence.
  • Designed to empower youth to become advocates for their peers and champions of healthy relationships in their communities
