* CYL Service Adventure *
Join us for bike rides twice a month as we explore the South Platte River Trail by bike! We will explore the trail by bike for about 20-30 minutes, and these rides will be guided by a CYL staff member. The rides will take place along different sections of the South Platte River Trail to help you notice different parts of the trail and take note of its accessibility, mobility and/or safety concerns.
This is a great chance to have fun, while also learning how to advocate for changes in your community. At the end of the summer, we have a goal to create a mural along the bike path, so help us decide where!
Once you register you will receive an email with location and more information. Please make sure to check your email!
How to register:
Sign up for any and all of our bike rides this summer.
As you register, share in the notes if you need a bike and/or helmet. You will not be able to participate if you don't wear a helmet! As the date of the bike ride gets closer, we will share the exact meeting location with you! Bike requests must be made at least 5 days in advance, so make sure to let us know if you'll need a bike and/or helmet!
What to expect:
Bikes and helmets are provided if needed. Don't know how to ride a bike? Email us. Each bike ride will be about 20 minutes long, starting and ending at the same place. Snacks and refreshments are provided by CYL! If you love this, bike with us for each ride! Youth who participate more than once have the opportunity to take a leadership role in creating the community mural.
During each ride, we will also be asking you to notice your surroundings - how accessible is this trail? What could be improved on it? Who is using this trail? Would you feel safe if you were not riding with a group? As we explore mobility and accessibility, we're excited to hear your thoughts!
What to bring:
If you have your own bike, meet us there! Bring a water bottle and a pack to hold your belongings. CYL will provide snacks and refreshments for after our bike ride.
TLG Participants:
These bike rides help you learn about mobility in Denver and its relation to community safety!
