Fire Mitigation Service Day

as part of the 2021 YES Conference

Are you looking to get your hands dirty and get involved in real action to better our environment?

Join other youth and Environmental Action Programs at Calwood Education Center for a day of educational and hands-on actions around sustainability and fire mitigation. 

October 9th actions are from 9AM-4PM, and will take place at Cal-Wood Outdoor Education Center. Participation in the Conference is FREE for all participants and includes transportation, meals and programming.

On October 9th we will be participating in actions like:
- Planting trees to support rehabilitating fire-damaged forests
- Hands-on work in the greenhouse that feeds the local community
- Working with other programs to learn practices that can be brought home to support local community environmental needs
- Having fun and participating in climate action activities with other changemakers in a beautiful setting

Learn about the YES Conference: 

This action is a part of the Youth Exploring Stewardship Conference. The YES Conference is created in partnership with the Youth Exploring Stewardship (YES) Coalition, where CYL is a founding member. The YES Conference provides a way for youth to get outdoors and connect with other teens across the Front Range who are interested in stewardship, environmental stewardship and climate action. 

A two-day leadership experience, where youth environmental leaders from around the Front Range will…

• Participate in hands-on stewardship and fun outdoor activities in small groups
• Explore future academic and career opportunities
• Take their leadership skills to the next level
• Make new friends, and have fun outside!

If you can't make it in person, consider joining the virtual session the next day on Sunday, October 10th.
