Volunteer: Trail Construction + Camp : Cal-Wood Education Center & VOCCYL Service Adventure Cal-Wood Education Center Join Colorado Young Leaders for an unforgettable day of service and adventure at Cal-Wood Education Center! Volunteers will serve alongside Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado and spend the day helping with hands-on camp maintenance projects that support outdoor education programs and help keep this incredible mountain property welcoming for future campers and students. From meaningful service projects to time spent enjoying the fresh mountain air, this is a great opportunity to serve, connect, and experience the outdoors alongside other Young Leaders and families. When: Friday, July 31, 2026 (Stay overnight through August 1) What We’ll Do: Volunteers will work together on a variety of camp improvement and maintenance projects that support Cal-Wood’s outdoor education programs and facilities. Projects may include: General camp maintenance and cleanup Outdoor improvement projects Organizing and preparing camp spaces for future programs Assisting staff with property upkeep and beautificationWhat to Bring: Comfortable clothes appropriate for outdoor work Closed-toe shoes Water bottle Sunscreen Lunch Overnight gear if participating in the optional overnight experienceOptional Adventure Activity: Young Leaders and family are invited to stay for an overnight adventure on the Cal-Wood property following the service project. The evening will include hiking, games, community time, and s’mores under the stars if fire restrictions allow. This overnight opportunity offers students and families additional time to connect, relax, and enjoy the outdoors together. CYL will provide dinner and s'mores supplies.
