Volunteer: ANNUAL DECALIBRON 14er HIKE

Colorado Young Leaders invites students and families to join us on September 13, 2026, for one of CYL’s most meaningful and memorable traditions—the annual Decalibron 14er Adventure near Alma, Colorado.

Participants will meet at the trailhead at 7:00 a.m. for a full day of challenge, encouragement, mountain views, and community as we take on Colorado’s famous Decalibron Loop together.

The Decalibron is more than just a hike for CYL—it’s a symbol of the leadership journey. Just like life, the trail includes steep climbs, moments of doubt, breakthrough victories, and the support of people around you helping every step of the way. Over the years, this experience has become a powerful tradition within Colorado Young Leaders, encouraging students to step outside their comfort zones, discover resilience, and realize they are capable of more than they imagined.

Whether students choose to summit one peak or challenge themselves to complete the full Decalibron route, this adventure is about personal growth, teamwork, and celebrating the journey together. Along the trail, participants will experience breathtaking alpine scenery, meaningful conversations, shared encouragement, and unforgettable memories with fellow young leaders and families.

No prior 14er experience is required—just a willingness to try something hard, support others, and embrace the adventure. Colorado Young Leaders staff and volunteers will help create a supportive environment where everyone can challenge themselves at their own pace and define what success looks like for them. Because sometimes the biggest growth happens one step at a time.  Let's climb together.
