COLLABORATIVE YOUTH SUMMIT

Saturday April 6th, 2024

CALL FOR VIRTUAL YOUTH PRESENTATIONS:
The Collaborative Youth Summit will bring together young people (ages 13-24) from across Colorado for a day-long
virtual summit. The goal is to connect and inspire ALL youth to embrace their unique leadership by providing an open
and inclusive space to further expand their knowledge and skills to create and lead the changes they want to see.
This year’s virtual summit is accepting presentations from YOUTH on topics related to:
● Mental health (e.g. accessing support, feeling connected and hopeful, etc.)
● Creating change in your community (e.g. community organizing, collective student power, resilience,
transformative change, engaging in a virtual world, using technology as a tool, etc.)
● Youth-adult partnerships (e.g. valuing youth voice, authentic partnership, etc.)
● Substance misuse (e.g. tobacco/nicotine, alcohol, cannabis, prescription drugs, etc.)
● Creating a more equitable world (e.g. addressing racism and combating white supremacy, food
insecurity, youth poverty and houselessness, etc.)
● LGBTQIA2+ topics (e.g. being involved in a GSA, identity exploration/affirmation, QTBIPOC
experiences, community/allyship, etc.)
● Sustainability and the environment (e.g. climate justice, local climate efforts, etc. )
● Other topics related to teen wellbeing and equity (you are the experts!)
The objective of the summit is to: promote leadership, skill-building and relationship-building (public speaking,
problem-solving), education and learning about resources, provide opportunities to connect, and discuss future
opportunities. This summit strives to create a space of affirmation, relatability, and empowerment. Creativity is
encouraged! All sessions must include at least one youth presenter and be delivered live during the virtual summit.
Presenters must be youth, however, an adult is welcome to support you. Need support on structuring your
presentation? Click here to see outline ideas and examples of past sessions!
We are looking for presenters to give LIVE sessions of the following length(s):
● 45 minute-long session
● 15 min artistic, movement, or engagement based presentation (e.g. poetry, music, spoken word, etc),
mindfulness moment, grounding activities, community builder, etc.

All accepted youth presenters/groups will be compensated for their time: Payment is meant to compensate you
for time spent preparing and presenting. 45 minute presentations will be paid $300. Individuals/groups giving artistic
presentations will receive $75. These funds will be paid per session and will be distributed to the lead presenter (if more
than one person is presenting during the session).
What to expect if you are accepted as a presenter:
● You will receive an email confirming that you will be presenting at the summit by early March
● You will be assigned a presentation time; please ensure you are available during the summit date
● All presenters will be required to participate in a pre-summit check-in video call using Zoom to test
connection and equipment, as well as a dress rehearsal
