Description

ARE YOU A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL AND LOOKING FOR SUPPORT AND INFORMATION AROUND CREATING A COMMUNITY IMPACT PROJECT IN YOUR PASSION AREAS?

Applications are now open for the Mt. Bross Summit cohort! To learn more about the entire Decalibron Loop program, go here

Through your participation in this program you will work with an adult mentor who will support you through:

  • Leadership workshops to highlight your strengths
  • Dialogue sessions to support your goals
  • A guide to support you in creating a community impact project
  • A network of community partners and Young Leaders to work alongside you

This is for CYLers in their final year of high school who are ready to take the next step in their leadership to leave a legacy and impactful change in their community.

The Mt. Bross Summit is where you will learn everything you need to know to plan your own service project to leave a legacy in your community. Once you complete your Mt. Bross Summit, you will have worked with CYL and other community partners to put your vision for change into action. We will celebrate your success and help leave a lasting impact in your community and CYL.

Leaving Mt. Lincoln, climbers descend slightly down to a saddle, hike a ridge and ascend to the peak of Mt. Bross; the last, rewarding summit of the loop. Here is where our students complete their Legacy project articulating who they are as leaders and the legacy they want to leave for their community. Legacy projects may look like a final internship, student-designed school program, a CYL Service Adventure, or more! There is no "right" way to complete a Legacy Project in CYL.

Checkpoints to achieve the summit:

  1. Be in your final year of high school
  2. Implement your Legacy Project!
  3. Share your legacy with others to sustain your project
  4. Recommended: 50 service hours
  5. Optional: Apply for the Colorado Young Leaders Youth Advisory Board or an organization/leadership board within your cause area

Legacy Project is unique to the individual Colorado Young Leader. While it should take time to implement, it could be a one-day project like a Service Adventure or an extended project over the course of the school year. There is no right way to implement a Legacy Project. CYL Summit Guides and Staff will support along the way.

APPLY NOW THROUGH THE END OF THE YEAR
