Young African American and Latinx Leaders (YAALL) is currently accepting applications from DPS high schoolers.
YAALL was created out of a need by Denver Public School communities and the district to address racial inequities in DPS, especially the school-to-prison pipeline. YAALL exclusively exists to serve students of color.
Youth participants will get the opportunity to engage in critical discussions and receive trainings on community organizing, social justice, and conducting critical research, all while making integral policy change in their community.
Participants will also get to attend two FREE mountain retreats to bond with fellow YAALL members, be out in nature, and deepen their critical thinking!
There is no GPA requirement for the program, and students with non-traditional academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
