We are hiring for 2 Youth Art Mural Project Coordinators
CYL is hiring 2 Youth Art Mural Project Coordinators, reporting to the Program Director.
The Coordinator(s) will be responsible for the creation and implementation of a series of art murals located in Northeast Denver along the “Walkable Loop.” The Coordinator(s) will put together mural painting volunteer days over the late spring and summer 2021, to recruit other high school students in Northeast Denver to add more community art to the Montbello community.
The Youth Art Mural Project Coordinator(s) will be responsible for the mural sketches, and their sketches should include ways for volunteers to assist with the project. The Coordinator(s) will also be responsible for communicating with and organizing youth volunteers, with the help of the Program Director.
Hours: 160 hours over 5-6 months, average of 8 hours per week
Stipend: $15/hour paid at the end of each month or upon project completion
Responsibilities:
- Creating drafts of mural sketches and potentially meeting with local Denver street artists
- Implementation of mural project(s) with focus on youth
- Communicating with youth volunteers on day of mural installation
- Opportunity to manage a project budget for your mural project
- Document the progression of mural implementation through photography, video, etc.
Qualifications
- Young person, between 16-24 years, passionate about art and community engagement. Will gladly accept applications from youth outside of these age ranges based on experience and excitement
- Live in Montbello or Green Valley Ranch
- Timely, responsible, and a strong communicator
- Desire to make a positive impact in your community
