Attention High School Students: The Medical Career Collaborative (MC2) Application is Now Open!

They are thrilled to announce that the application for the Medical Career Collaborative (MC2) is officially open! This is an incredible opportunity for students interested in exploring healthcare careers to gain valuable experience and mentorship.

What is MC2? MC2 is a health careers pathway program designed to provide high school students with hands-on exposure to the healthcare field. Participants will receive ongoing support as they pursue careers in healthcare.

Who Can Apply? To be eligible for MC2, students must:

• Be a current high school sophomore

• Attend a high school in the Denver metro area or Colorado Springs

Program Details: The MC2 program is a two-year commitment, with participants engaging in activities throughout both their junior and senior years. Program activities include:

• Monthly medical field trips, workshops, and training sessions

• Internships at Denver Health or Children’s Hospital Colorado locations in Anschutz (Aurora), North (Broomfield), South (Highlands Ranch), or Colorado Springs

• Weekly seminar sessions during the internship period

• Mentorship from healthcare professionals

• Mini health-related certifications

• College and career coaching

MC2 focuses on recruiting students from groups underrepresented in the healthcare workforce to build a diverse healthcare community.

Application Requirements: When selecting students, the committee considers:

• Student essays

• GPA

• School activities

• Community involvement

• Financial need

• Recommendations

• Interest in healthcare

The MC2 program operates at multiple sites, including Children’s Hospital Colorado and Denver Health. Students can indicate their preferred site in the application, but placements will be determined by the MC2 administrative team.

Important Dates and Deadlines:

• Application Deadline: Wednesday, March 5, 2025, by 5 PM MST

Please note that the application requires essays, a school transcript, a recommendation, and general information. They encourage students to start early to ensure they have ample time to complete all components.
